Washington allocates 50 million dollars to help refugees in the earthquake zone

US President Joe Biden announced an aid of up to $50 million to meet the needs of refugees affected by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

In a presidential circular, on Saturday, Biden authorized Secretary of State Antony Blinken to provide $50 million in aid to meet the urgent needs of refugees affected by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

The circular stated that Biden allocated $ 50 million in aid from the Emergency Assistance Fund, to meet the urgent and unexpected needs of refugees resulting from the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria that occurred in February.

Biden said the assistance includes contributions to international foundations and non-governmental organizations, including host communities, and payment of administrative expenses for the US State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.
