Washington: The border between Turkey and Syria must be opened for aid to enter northern Syria
ARK News… The US Agency for International Development called for opening the borders between Turkey and Syria to secure the flow of aid in light of the humanitarian catastrophe in northwestern Syria as a result of the devastating earthquake.
The agency's director, Samantha Power, said that the agency is communicating with the director of the Syrian Civil Defense (the White Helmets) about how to use aid and deliver it to those in dire need.
There is a need for the border between Turkey and Syria to remain open for the necessary aid to flow,” Power added in a tweet on her Twitter account.
The White House pledged, shortly after the earthquake, to deliver aid to both sides of the Syrian-Turkish border, the areas most affected by the earthquake.
