ARK News... A Kurdish activist on Sunday, December 4, 2022, said that the Kurds in Aleppo live in dire humanitarian conditions, especially the displaced ones in light of the suffocating siege imposed on the two neighborhoods.

Activist Rebar Ahmed said during his participation in the ARK newsletter on December 4, 2022: The crises continue, and the suffering of the people increases, in conjunction with the lack of job opportunities, and the absence of the role of charitable and humanitarian organizations in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods of Aleppo.

He continued that the advent of winter is burdening civilians, especially with the lack of fuel and electricity, the insane rise in prices, unemployment, and other crises.

He explained that ten days ago, civilians lacked electricity, except for the exorbitantly high food price and daily requirements.

He emphasized that checkpoints are spread everywhere, families cannot move to and from the two neighborhoods, and merchants fabricate crises because they are the ones who benefit from the continuation of crises.

According to the information received, the Kurds in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya live in dire humanitarian conditions, in light of complete negligence by the PYD administration in turning to the suffering of the people, and providing alternatives such as humanitarian aid to families with limited incomes, to alleviate the daily agony they go through.

The source confirmed that the people are living in a state of lack of the most basic necessities of life and a lack of means of subsistence. Ten days ago, the general electricity was cut off in Sheikh Maqsoud, with problems in the operation of generators sometimes.

Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods in Aleppo are Kurdish neighborhoods, they are under the administration of the PYD, and most of their residents hail from the Afrin region in addition to the rest of the regions in Syrian Kurdistan, the two neighborhoods are exposed to many times to a siege by the Syrian regime.
