ARK News: Sixteen years after the departure of the star of the Jihad football club and the scorer of Syria team, Haitham Kicho, who lost his life after a traffic accident to his club bus on its way to Deir Al-Zour to play a match in the Syrian league for the second degree.

On the way to Deir Al-Zour city in preparation for the meeting of Al-Mayaadin club in the fifth phase of the Syrian football championship of the second degree, and a few kilometers from Deir al-Zour city the wheel of the bus of Jihad team burst and overturned several times to confirm for the fourth time in 14 years the curse of "traffic accidents" , which usually hit the Jihad Club, the son Qamishlo city, northeast of Syria, led to the death of international player Haitham Kicho and the driver of the bus and the injury of three players and the management of the team with different fractures on 16-10-2002.

Kicho born on March 23, 1976, in the Assyrian neighborhood of Qamishlo city, he attended primary school at Salah El-Din El-Ayoubi School. He was raised among Qamishlo schools and played in the EL-Tasaddi team which was one of the most popular teams in the city. In 1991 he played with the cubs of Jihad Club, and in 1992/93 he played with the youth, he won with the Jihad Club in the 1994-1995 season the youth league championship and was a scorer with 25 goals and also earned the following season the league top scorer with 24 goals.

Kicho's participation in the national youth team began in 1994 when he won the AFC Youth Cup and was called to represent the national team in 2000, but he was deported and he played only some friendly matches.
He returned to play with Al-Jihad Club in 1998-1999 after finishing playing with the Police Club for his military service. He won the title of Syrian league scorer 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 and the third scorer of the Arabs.
He married his 20-year-old cousin and had a daughter named Lava who died at the age of 26.

The day of Haitham Kicho's departure was a sad impact in the lives of the people of Qamishlo city, where thousands of people participated in his funeral and consecration in Qamishlo city.
