ARK News... On Friday, May 20, 2022, the Syrian Yazidis Council condemned the kidnapping of a displaced Kurdish minor girl from Afrin, in Syrian Kurdistan, to the city of Aleppo, by PYD militants. At the same time, the Council demanded that she be returned to her family.

The Yazidi Council of Syria said: "Despite the denunciations, denunciations, and protests that have taken place and are still taking place against the kidnappings, the targeting of victims by the Revolutionary Youth Organization continues." The statement continued: "The last victim of this organization was the minor Yezidi girl Silva Hamid Ja’far from the village of Basofan, who was kidnapped in broad daylight on the school road in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo and taken to an unknown destination."

The statement added: "As the father of the kidnapped confirmed to the Yezidis Council of Syria that from the first hours of their daughter's kidnapping to date, they have not left security, administrative or human rights body among the stakeholders in the PYD, and the Autonomous Administration, but asked her about their daughter, but unfortunately it clarifies to them that none of them has the authority to know the whereabouts of this girl and her fate.

The Yezidi Council of Syria confirmed: "After the girl's father informed us about his tragedy and the story of his daughter, we in the Yezidi Council of Syria, in agreement with the girl's family, contacted the stakeholders and officials in the PYD, the Autonomous Administration, the SDF, and the SDC officially publicly to return the girl to the arms of her family away from the noise of the media, unfortunately, despite all those we contacted, they were rational and honest in their answers, but sadly it turned out that all of them have no authority in this matter and with knowledge of the whereabouts and fate of the minor Silva.

The Council condemned, saying: "Therefore, we in the Yezidi Council of Syria do not condemn the kidnapping of the girl Silva Ja’far only because she is a Yezidi, but we strongly condemn all the kidnappings carried out by this organization affiliated with the PYD (PKK) in the controlled areas, the Autonomous Administration, as we consider it a terrorist act and a flagrant violation of human rights, is no less heinous than the violations committed by the terrorist factions in Afrin and Serê Kaniyê.

The Council held the Democratic Union Party, the Kurdish parties allied with it, and the SDF was fully responsible for the kidnapping of the minor Silva and her similar minors and minors in the areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration. We also appealed to all international human rights organizations, the International Organization for the Protection of Women and Childhood, the UN Special Envoy for Syria (Pedersen), and the International Fact-Finding Committee in Syria to intervene with the Syrian Democratic Forces and put pressure on the Democratic Union Party to stop these violations and immediately release the minors who were abducted by this organization, the first of them is the Yezidi girl Silva from the People's Protection Units, Women and the Syrian Democratic Forces (YPG, YPJ, QSD) immediately and returned to the bosom of her parents to complete her education and live her life like other girls."
