Al-Bukamal… 15 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities killed in shelling on their positions

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that several fatalities following a few days ago airstrikes by aircraft believed to be Israeli, on the positions of pro-Iranian militias in the al-Bukamal countryside east of Deir al-Zour.

The Syrian Observatory added that some 14 pro-Iranian militiamen of Afghan and Iraqi nationalities were killed in the shelling, which targeted new positions affiliated with these militias. Two positions and vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.

The Observatory also added that the death toll is expected to rise, as some injured are in serious condition, amid reports of further fatalities.

The Observatory concluded that loud explosions in rural al-Bukamal town in rural Deir al-Zour, as a result of airstrikes by an unknown aircraft, targeting Iranian militias’ positions with more than ten raids west of al-Bukamal. No human or material losses were reported at that point.

Syrian Observatory activists, on November 14, monitored several airstrikes by unidentified jets on the Mohassan desert which is under the control of regime forces and Iranian-backed militias. Plumes of smoke were seen in the targeted site.
