Kobani... PKK kidnapped two other minors
ARK News.. A source familiar in the city of Kobani, on Monday, July 13, 2020, revealed two other names of two minors who were kidnapped by the PKK in Kobani in Syrian Kurdistan.
According to the private source who preferred not to be named told ARK News: Both Ahlam Muslim Hussein and Ghazal Muhammad Mustafa Iso were kidnapped by PYD gunmen, and there is no information about them until now.
The minors are from the village of Siftak of Kobani region, and have not exceeded 15 years of age (Ahlam was born in 2006, while Ghazal was born in 2005).
For his part, the author, “Can Dost”, said on his Facebook page after publishing the pictures of the two girls: “Ahlam and Ghazala are two new victims of the kidnapping gang of minors for their subsequent recruitment.”
“Can Dost” added: "The two girls (14 and 15) were kidnapped in Kobani, the village of Siftak on the eleventh of this month." The writer called for an end to the phenomenon, saying: "Speak out against these criminals."
The Defense Office of the PYD Department published a statement on Sunday, in which it denied the recruitment of any child, stating that paid hands and yellow press are behind this, as the statement stated, “Once again the yellow press and the paid pens return to accusations and lies towards self-management and its institutions, and that we respect all international treaties and the provisions of international humanitarian law, and at the same time we deny the false allegations made by the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. "
Although the statement claims that "the administration is committed to the agreements and understandings it has entered into with the international community, including the agreement signed with the United Nations on June 29, 2019, which stipulates the end and prevention of child recruitment", the process of child recruitment and abduction in Kurdish and Arab areas under the control of the PYD administration continued unchecked.
The Kurdistan regions of Syria and the PYD-administered areas such as Amouda, Derbasiya, Qamishlo, Kobani, Aleppo neighborhoods (Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya), Al-Shahba area and the areas of the Afrin expatriate, have witnessed the recent kidnapping of dozens of young men and children to be forced into forced recruitment camps.
The SDF signed an action plan with the United Nations last year, to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children under the age of eighteen, and to demobilize currently recruited boys and girls and separate them from the forces.
Observers say that hidden hands are working on that with the aim of undermining the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue, while Kurdish intellectuals are calling on the SDF to end the kidnapping of minors and return the kidnappers to their families.
