ARK News: The US spy network in Syria and Iraq provided information on the timing of Qassem Soleimani’s arrival in Iraq.

According to investigations by Iraqi security officials, spies had exchanged information with the US military at airports in Damascus and Baghdad, which tracked the exact location of Soleimani, according to Reuters. According to an Iraqi security official, the team concluded that the spy network at Baghdad airport could be involved in leaking important secret information about Soleimani’s whereabouts.

Among the suspects are two security officials at the Iraqi capital’s airport and two Cham Bal airline personnel involved in the transport of the Iranian general, one working at the Syrian airport and the other on a plane. They acted as part of a larger group.

The Syrian intelligence department did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Unidentified sources from US officials said Washington had been tracking Suleiman’s arrivals for several days, but did not provide information on how to obtain the information.

In the wake of tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States targeted and assassinated Commander Quds Force of Iran, along with Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, deputy chief of the Iraqi al-Shaabi organization near Baghdad airport, on January 3. Iran also launched missile strikes on two US military bases in Iraq on January 8, in an operation called “Martyr Soleimani” to avenge the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force.
