Agreement on the conduct of Russian-Turkish patrols in Idlib early May
ARK News: The parties participating in "Astana 12" talks agreed to conduct joint patrols between Russia and Turkey in Idlib, to a cease-fire and shelling which the province exposed to.
The media spokesman told the opposition delegation to "Astana", Ayman al-Assami, that a decision was taken in the talks to stop the shelling on Idlib, preceded by the conduct of joint Russian-Turkish patrols on the front line, early May.
Al-Assami added that the file of Idlib province was discussed in the talks, along with the file of detainees and the constitutional committee.
Idlib is under heavy bombardment by Assad's forces and Russian aircraft, which targeted the northern and western countryside of Hama in the past few hours with several raids which caused of killing nine civilians.
Russia and Turkey have not formally announced their intention to conduct joint patrols around the province.
While the Turkish army continues its patrols between the 12 monitoring posts deployed on the line of contact between the Syrian regime and the opposition.
Hours after the talks ended, Russian aircraft bombed several raids on Idlib and Hama, preceded by air strikes targeting the western countryside of Hama.
In September 2018, Turkish and Russian president’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin signed an agreement in Sochi to establish a demilitarized zone in Idlib and a complete ceasefire between the Syrian regime and the opposition.
