ARK News… Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday reaffirmed that the Region remains committed to protecting good neighborly relations on the basis of mutual respect.

"We want our relations with countries to be based on common ground and mutual respect. The Kurdistan Region has never been a threat to any party, and has always extended the hand of friendship to countries in the region and to the international community," the Kurdish leader said in a conference of representation offices of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

Therefore, our common interests must be protected and the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq must be respected and not violated."

He also urged good relations between the Kurdish diaspora and KRG representation offices to advance the Kurdish cause, and help build stronger political, economic, and trade relations with the outside world.

The prime minister also shed light on the many challenges the Kurdistan Region has been facing recently, including economic and security challenges, affirming that the Region will not abandon its constitutional rights.

He noted that the "will of our nation is stronger than plots," voicing optimism that the Kurdistan Region will eventually overcome these challenges.

Recently, the Kurdistan Region became the target of multiple drone and missile attacks attacking civilian infrastructure and homes of ordinary people. The Region also continues to struggle with economic problems, mainly due to the ongoing halt of its crude exports and lingering budget disputes with the federal government of Iraq.
