Shiye town in Afrin region hosts three returning families, one of whom returned from Germany
ARK News…. The return of displaced, refugee and emigrated Kurdish families to their hometown of Afrin, its town and villages, continues, the most recent of which is the return of three Kurdish families, one of whom returned from Germany.
A civilian in the town, on Thursday, September 14, 2023, said that three Kurdish families returned to their hometown in the Shiye town of Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan.
The source confirmed that two families returned from Turkey to the villages of Alkana and Chaqala in the town, while another family returned from Germany.
The past few months have witnessed the unprecedented return of displaced Kurdish families in Aleppo and those displaced in the Shahba camps, as well as refugees in Lebanon, Turkey and the Kurdistan Region.
After the Afrin war, more than 300,000 Kurds migrated to Al-Shahba camps, and they became victims of the PYD administration’s policy, which prevents the displaced from making their decision to return or head towards Aleppo and other regions.
Despite the horrific violations taking place in Afrin, the displaced Kurds decided to return to their hometown, especially after more than five years had passed since they remained in the camps in the Aleppo countryside.
Politicians call for the need to return to limit demographic change in the region.
