Dismantling three drug trafficking networks in the Kurdistan Region

ARK News… The General Directorate for Drug Control in the Kurdistan Region announced the dismantling of three drug trafficking networks consisting of 10 people.

The Directorate stated in a statement that, "After collecting information, continuous follow-up, and taking legal measures, on the 4th and 5th of this June, three groups of 10 people were arrested for drug trafficking."

The statement stated, "One of those groups tried to use women and girls to spread dangerous narcotic substances and increase the number of drug users."

He referred to the opening of investigation files with all detainees who confessed their crimes and were referred to the judiciary to take the necessary legal measures to punish them.

On May 29, 2023, the Kurdistan Region Security Council announced the arrest of hundreds of people accused of drug trafficking and abuse, in addition to the seizure of large quantities of narcotic substances.
