Syrian organization calls for the immediate release of the two media professionals, Sabri Fakhri and Bawar Ahmed

ARK News... The Syrian Human Rights Organization, on February 7, 2022, called for the release of the two journalists, Sabri Fakhri and Bawar Mulla Ahmed who were kidnapped by PYD militias in the city of Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan.

The two journalists, Sabri Fakhri, our correspondent, a member of the Logical Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, and Bauer Mulla Ahmed, correspondent of Yekiti Media website of the Yekiti Party of Kurdistan - Syria, were kidnapped on Saturday, February 5, 2022, in the city of Qamishlo.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights said on its official website that none of their relatives was informed of their arrest, and they were prevented from communicating with their families. The number of forcibly disappeared, as is the case with 85% of all detainees.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights also called for: "compensating the victims and their families financially and morally, stopping all arbitrary detention operations, and revealing the fate of thousands of forcibly disappeared by the Syrian Democratic Forces, which aims to spread terror among the community and blackmail the families, and we have real fear for their fate in the outbreak of the continued new Coronavirus.”

The Kurdish National Council in Syria had said in a statement: The targeting of media professionals and media institutions, at this time, by this administration and its armed groups is an unjustified escalation that aims to silence mouths and cover up their failure at all levels.

The Council also called on the international coalition led by the United States of America to intervene to put an end to these violations, release all media professionals, and allow media institutions to work freely.
