Coronavirus in regime-controlled areas: number of cases jumps to more than 30 and 325 Syrians in quarantine while 53 confirmed cases among Iranians and Iraqis

ARK News.. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the Syrian regime’s Ministry of Health has confirmed three new Coronavirus cases. This brings the number of cases announced by the Syrian regime authorities in its areas to 19.

The Observatory added that the number of infected cases in Syria has reached more than 30 confirmed cases in Damascus, Aleppo, Latakia, Tartous, Homs, Hama and Daraa,

The Observatory also added the number of people in quarantine has increased to 325, 123 of whom tested negative and were discharged. Adding that during January and at the beginning of February, many cases with lower respiratory tract infections or severe pneumonia had arrived at hospitals in regime-controlled areas, eight of whom died because doctors were unable to diagnose cases with Coronavirus.

The Syrian Observatory made clear that the number of Coronavirus confirmed cases among Iranian militias in Syria has reached 34, 11 of which are still in hospitals in Iranian-controlled areas in Deir ez-Zor, while the rest recovered in addition to confirmed information on the deaths of two persons of the total infected cases after being transferred to Iran.

The number of infected people with Coronavirus among Iranian-backed militias of Iraqi nationality has reached 19 and they were transferred to Iraqi territory.

Moreover, a civilian plane carrying at least 20 people arrived today at AQamishlo airport from the Syrian capital Damascus. Once the plane landed, emergency teams conducted preliminary coronavirus tests.

Sources in the “Self-Administration” of N and NE Syria confirmed that the arrivals will be quarantined for 14 days to make sure that they are not infected with the virus.
