ARK News: Some 168 million people will need humanitarian assistance in 2020, according to the 2020 World Humanitarian Panorama report prepared by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

”About 168 million people will need humanitarian aid protection in 2020,” the study highlights.”

It is added that next year will be needed 28.8 billion dollars to help 108.8 million vulnerable people.

For his part, the UN Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock, said in a statement published on the OCHA website, that "the crude truth is that the year 2020 will be difficult for millions of people."

"The positive is that humanitarian aid is getting better and faster in reaching the most vulnerable, including women, girls, and boys, as well as people with disabilities," he said.

The note indicates that in 2019 "more people than expected needed humanitarian aid following conflicts and natural disasters."

It is noted that until the end of November, donors provided 16,000 million dollars to UN humanitarian agencies, so it was possible to help 61.3 million people from 22 countries.
