ARK News… The Cultural Office in the Urfa locality of the Kurdish National Council held a lecture on the Kurds in the Ottoman era in the city of Urfa in Turkey.

The symposium was moderated by the head of the cultural office of the local council, researcher Dr. Suhail Ahmed, and was attended by a group of Arab and Syrian Kurdish intellectuals and interested parties.

The lecturer touched on the need to strengthen fraternal relations between all components of the Syrian people, stressing that the Kurdish national movement in Syria, since its inception, has been working to strengthen the bonds of Arab-Kurdish brotherhood and coexistence.

He shed light on the Kurdish-Ottoman historical relationship starting from the fifteenth century until the twentieth century, speaking about the independent Kurdish emirates established at that time, such as: “Dostakiya - Ardalan - Badinan - Hakari - Soran - Baban - Botan - Bradost... etc.”

For his part, Muslim Muhammad, head of the local council of the Kurdish National Council, confirmed that the National Council is working to build bridges of trust and communication for a pluralistic, participatory, federal Syria for all Syrians.

The seminar was held at the request of the Arabic-speaking Syrian brothers, with the aim of learning about the history of the Kurds and their cause, promoting national values, and building bridges of brotherhood.
