Philip Barbosa, head of the WHO team on epidemic cholera and diarrheal diseases, said that the cholera outbreak in Syria is spreading in 10 governorates and spreading throughout the country, and the situation is alarming, and more than 426 cases have been confirmed, and 33 people have died.

"The Syrian Ministry of Health has reported an outbreak of cholera in 10 governorates as of September 28, which resulted in 33 deaths and 426 confirmed cases. The situation in the affected governorates is developing at an alarming pace and spreading to other new areas."

Earlier, the Syrian Ministry of Health indicated that in most of the cases discovered with cholera, which led to the death of some patients, they came as a result that they came to medical institutions too late or they suffer from chronic diseases.
