A Kurdish party official on Sunday confirmed that the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) had kidnapped more children and youth from Shingal (Sinjar) than ISIS.

"PKK kidnapped more children and youth from Shingal than ISIS did, and the parents of these children and young men do not know anything about their fate, because they do not know where the PKK took them," Qadir Qachaq, the official of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Shingal branch, told BasNews.

"The PKK practices injustice against the people of Shingal, seizes lands and prevents them from working in them, and digs tunnels in those lands, and does not allow humanitarian organizations to come," he said.

The Kurdish party official stated, “The PKK prevents humanitarian organizations from helping the people of Shingal, prevents the delivery of services to the area, and brings various groups of PMF militias to Shingal daily, which worsens the situation of the area.”

“The IDPs returning to Shingal are regretful due to the lack of security and services, and a large number of them were displaced from the district again,” said Qadir Qachaq.
