ARK News… The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, on Sunday, December 13, 2020, issued a statement about the events in the city of Dirbesiya in Syrian Kurdistan.

The secretariat said: On the night of Sunday, on December 13, 2020, an armed group attacked the Kurdish National Council office in the city of Dirbesiya after showering it with bullets, tampering with its contents, and trying to burn the car of the deputy head of the local council there.

The secretariat added: Another group also targeted the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in the western neighborhood of Qamishlo with Molotov cocktails, and two days ago they attacked the office of the Kurdistan Yekiti Party - Syria with a pillar and lowered the Kurdish flag from the desktop.

The secretariat continued in its statement: This escalation comes after other provocative measures, such as the PYD administration's security authorities questioning and threatening Peshmerga families and arresting supporters of the Council, and thus these practices return again with the aim of undermining the ongoing Kurdish negotiations and creating frustration among our people and spreading an atmosphere of anxiety in them.

The General Secretariat affirmed: The Kurdish National Council in Syria strongly condemns these acts and practices, their perpetrators and those behind them, so it holds those security authorities responsible and affirms that such a thing does not undermine the Council’s will and position in the work always as it serves the Kurdish people, their just issue and the achievement of unity the Kurdish position and rank.
