A leader in PYD claims that lightning and cigarettes are behind fires

ARK News: A leader in the PYD management claimed that a large part of the fires that affect the agricultural crops in Kurdistan of Syria are due to non-contrived reasons.

In his statement about the causes of fires affecting crops in the areas of Kurdistan of Syria, the co-chair of the so-called Internal Affairs Department in the administration of the PYD, Kanaan Barakat said that part of the fires is caused by the sparks from harvesters, by throwing cigarettes, or by weather, including lightning.

Since the beginning of the harvest, and so far, the fires have affected about 500 thousand dunums in the areas of Kurdistan of Syria, and the official of the Economics and Agriculture Authority of the PYD administration, Salman Baroudo said that their potential is limited and cannot compensate the affected people.
