Politician to ARK: The regime is clinically dead, and As-Suwaidaa initially joined the revolution but was met with the machine of repression
ARK News... The Kurdish politician Saadoun Sheikho on Monday, January 2, 2023, said that the As-Suwaidaa governorate was part of the revolution, but it has become a victim of the Syrian regime's repression machine, like the rest of the Syrian regions.
Sheikho continued that the province of As-Suwaidaa, despite its privacy and its embrace of the Druze, was involved in the Syrian revolution from the beginning and adopted the slogans of the revolution, but it was subjected to a machine of repression and targeting of young men by the Syrian regime, and yet it continued in one form and another in the revolution and the demand for the overthrow of the regime. The recent protests are a continuation of the primitive movement and will positively affect the solution to the Syrian crisis.
He indicated by saying during his participation in the ARK newsletter that there were efforts to form an Autonomous Administration in it with Russian efforts, but Russia's preoccupation with the Ukrainian war led to its withdrawal, which created a state of fear and panic among Israel and Jordan due to the control of Iranian militias instead of the withdrawing Russian forces from the region.
At the end of his speech, he said that the Syrian regime will not be able to implement the demands of the protesters in As-Suwaidaa to release the detainees and improve the living conditions because it is weak and clinically dead. Nevertheless, it will resort to its method and use the machine of repression to end the state of tension and protests.

Fadel Daly: Achieving a political transition in Syria in accordance with UN Resolution 2254 has become a necessity
ARK News... A leader in the Future Movement of Syrian Kurdistan revealed that the As-Suwaidaa governorate remained silent and neutral at the beginning of the Syrian revolution, and is now revolting due to the poor living situation.
During his participation in the Radio Rebaz newsletter, Fadel Dali, a member of the leadership body of the Future Movement of Syrian Kurdistan, said that what is happening in the city of As-Suwaidaa currently has nothing to do with the Syrian revolution.
This is because the governorate remained silent and neutral when the Syrian revolution began.
Dali added: The worsening living situation in the city of As-Suwaidaa is due to several reasons, foremost of which is the collapse of the value of the Syrian pound against the US dollar, and only the people pay the variable tax.
Dali stressed: Achieving a political transition in Syria in accordance with International Resolution 2254 has become a necessity because the situation in Syria becomes more complicated with the passage of time.

Mustafa to ARK: The displaced from Afrin continue to return because they resented promises and chose to die there
ARK News... Adnan Mustafa, a member of the advisory body of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, on Monday, January 2, 2023, said that the displaced of Afrin continue to return to the land of their fathers and grandfathers because they chose death on their lands and resented the false promises.
Mustafa participated in the ARK newsletter about the situation in Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan. He said that tree-cutting operations are continuing and increasing, especially recently, while the percentage of arbitrary arrests decreased because cutting trees and turning them into firewood is more beneficial and has become a leading trade.
He said that some areas have become a barren desert, such as Jabal Basouta, Kifere, Midanky, and the villages of Midans in Rajo town, and today all factions are responsible for the unjust cut-off, and what was said before the New Year about ending armed manifestations and handing over the reins to the police, has not yet been implemented, as each faction still has a court, prison, and especial security, and the security of Tahrir al-Sham also exists but in a hidden way.
Regarding solutions, he said that Turkey must rein in the factions and allow charitable and humanitarian organizations to enter Afrin and that the Syrian Interim Government, the Syrian Coalition, and the Kurdish National Council in Syria must work seriously to reduce violations.
At the end of his speech, he said that despite the violations, returns from the camps of al-Shahba, Turkey, the Kurdistan Region, and Lebanon continue because the returnees chose death on their lands and resented the empty promise.
