A press release from the Coalition on the Chemical Weapons Organization's declaration of the Assad regime's responsibility for the 2018 Douma attack

A press release from the Coalition on the Chemical Weapons Organization's declaration of the Assad regime's responsibility for the 2018 Douma attack

Jan 29 2023

ARK News... The National Coalition demanded that the Assad regime be held accountable, Security Council Resolution 2118 (2013) be implemented, and measures be imposed against the regime under Chapter 7, according to Article 21 of the aforementioned resolution
Statement text:
The Syrian National Coalition stresses that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons' announcement of the Assad regime's responsibility for the chemical attack on the city of Douma in 2018 puts the international community in front of its responsibility to remove the threat of this regime from the Syrian people, who have been subjected to various types of killings and violations at the hands of the Assad regime and its allies.

The National Coalition calls for holding the Assad regime accountable, implementing Security Council Resolution 2118 (2013), and imposing measures against the regime under Article 7, according to Article 21 of the aforementioned resolution, especially after several investigations by impartial international organizations that proved the Assad regime’s responsibility for launching attacks with chemical weapons against the Syrian people.
The continued existence of the criminal Assad regime means the absence of international justice, just as giving it more time means the continuation of the Syrian tragedy, as the Syrian people are still making sacrifices in order to reach a solution that meets their aspirations to build a free and democratic Syria without the Assad regime and its repressive apparatus.
