Statement: "The blood of martyrs and victims has become a basis for promoting a culture of coexistence in Kurdistan"
ARK News... Wednesday, February 1, 2023, marked the nineteenth anniversary of the two suicide bombings on February 1, the first day of Eid al-Adha in 2004, which took place at the headquarters of the Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, while the leaders of the two parties received well-wishers on the holiday.
The two simultaneous bombings killed 103 people, including leaders of the two parties, and wounded about two hundred others, including partisans and citizens.
Among the high-ranking officials who were lost in the two bombings were Sami Abdul Rahman, who was deputy prime minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Shawkat Sheikh Yazeddin, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Akram Muntak, Governor of Erbil, and Shakhwan Abbas, the official of the third branch of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
on Tuesday, the Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs in the Kurdistan Regional Government issued a statement saying, "19 years ago, on the first of February 2004, dark terrorists targeted in two suicide bombings the city of Erbil, which led to the martyrdom of 103 government officials, leaders, party cadres, a number of Peshmerga and citizens, in addition to wounding and injuring others.
"Despite terrorists committing this heinous act to destroy peace, the spirit of tolerance and the joy of celebrating Eid, the blood of the martyrs and victims has become a basis for strengthening the culture of coexistence and sovereignty in Kurdistan," the statement added.

وذلك بمناسبة إطلاق سراح حسين سليمان، عضو اللجنة المركزية للحزب، من سجـون PYD.
وجرت مراسم الاستقبال اليوم بحضور محمد إسماعيل المسؤول الإداري للمكتب السياسي للحزب, وقياديي الحزب, وممثلي محليات المجلس الوطني الكوردي في سوريا بالإضافة إلى فعاليات وشخصيات سياسية وثقافية واجتماعية.
