Syria Regains Membership in the Union for the Mediterranean Council
ARK News.. The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that Syria has regained its membership in the Union for the Mediterranean Council, more than 13 years after its suspension.
In an official statement, the Ministry welcomed the decision to restore Syria’s membership, describing it as a positive step that reflects growing recognition of Syria’s pivotal role in the region.
The Ministry added that this achievement is the result of intensive diplomatic efforts to strengthen cooperation with Mediterranean countries based on dialogue and sustainable development.
It affirmed that membership opens new horizons for cooperation in education, green economy, energy, and transport.
The statement also expressed Syria’s commitment to the Union’s principles and gratitude to the countries that supported its return, calling the move an important milestone in the path of openness and enhancing Syria’
