Many female and male journalists colleagues in West Kurdistan are exposed to serious threats to their lives from parties close to the Democratic Union Party, and the frequency of these threats has increased recently, and pages and websites close to the PKK have published insults and explicit threats against media colleague Evan Haseeb, and today with fellow journalist Shivan Ibrahim.

Our colleagues are subjected to systematic campaigns, intent on personal abuse to them and their families, and the matter has reached the point of calling for physical liquidation.

We in the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate - Syria and the General Union of Kurdish Writers and Journalists in Syria, declare our condemnation of these practices that narrow the space for journalistic work in Western Kurdistan in favor of a specific political party, which governs the Kurdish region, and sees everyone who disagrees with it as an opponent and an enemy.

We declare our solidarity with our female colleagues and journalist colleagues, and we hold the PYD Administration authorities and their media institutions responsible for the lives of our threatened colleagues, and we demand that they stop the hands of those close to them, and stop these threats immediately, we also call on international organizations that concerned with protecting journalists to urgently intervene with the PYD authority to stop these grave violations.
