Kurdistan Democratic Party and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Reach Common Understanding
ARK News.. The joint negotiating committee between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) announced on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, that they have reached a mutual understanding and a preliminary agreement on most of the key issues discussed. This came after an intensive series of meetings, culminating in their latest session in Erbil.
According to a statement released by the committee, the outcomes of these negotiations will be presented to the higher negotiation committees of both parties for final approval. Both sides emphasized that this step aims to strengthen joint political efforts in the next phase of governance, in line with the current circumstances and the aspirations of the people of the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting concluded with the preparation of a draft document outlining the key topics to be addressed in the upcoming discussions.
