Resumption of Flights Between Erbil and Damascus
ARK News.. Kurdistan media sources have announced the resumption of flights between Damascus and Erbil, following a temporary suspension due to the political changes in Syria.
According to Kurdistan24, a flight departed Damascus International Airport for Erbil International Airport on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11 a.m., marking the return of air travel between the two cities.
The report also noted that another flight arrived in Damascus from Baghdad and Erbil. A passenger arriving from Iraq expressed his joy, saying, "It was a wonderful and pleasant trip, and we were well taken care of. I haven’t been to Syria in 13 years, ever since I left at the age of 17."
Air travel between Damascus and Erbil had been disrupted in recent years due to Syria's political and security turmoil. However, with improving security conditions and the recent change in regime, flights have resumed, signaling the start of a new phase of cooperation between the two sides.
