ARK News.. A special source has reported that members of the Al-Amshat militia have detained several Kurdish civilians in the village of Kakhire and released them only after extorting ransom money.

According to the source, on 26 November 2024, the Al-Amshat militia detained four Kurdish civilians from the village of Kakhire in the Shiye town of Afrin.

They were released after paying a financial ransom. The individuals and the amounts they were forced to pay are as follows:

-Mohammed Ubaida, known as "Kalo", 49 years old - Ransom: USD 500.
-Ahmed Hamid Waqas, 45 years old - Ransom: $1,200 USD.
-Ahmed Mohammed Waqas, 40 years old - Ransom: $1,000 USD.
-Mohammed Ham Rasho, 75 years old - Ransom: $1,000 USD.
Vehicles seized for unpaid taxes

On Wednesday 13 November 2024, the Al-Amshat militia confiscated tractors and vehicles belonging to Kurdish villagers in Kakhire due to their inability to pay the taxes imposed on them. The affected people are:

-Jameel Ibish - tractor confiscated.
-Fayeq Jabo - tractor confiscated.
-Mannan Abo - vehicle confiscated.
-Idrees Haj Ali - tractor confiscated.
-Mohammed Khoja - tractor confiscated.
-Mohammed Hisso - vehicle confiscated.
Heavy levies on olive press owners
In addition, the Al-Amshat militia has imposed taxes on the village's olive press owners, demanding 100 jars of olive oil from each of the three olive presses in Kakhire.

The ongoing financial extortion and oppressive practices in Afrin, particularly in Kurdish-majority villages, highlight the deteriorating humanitarian and security conditions under militia control
