Kurdistan Region and the UK Agree to Strengthen Comprehensive Bilateral Cooperation
ARK News.. The United Kingdom has signed a series of cooperation agreements with the Kurdistan Region aimed at enhancing border security and addressing shared threats.
The British Consulate General in the Kurdistan Region stated on Thursday, November 28, 2024, that UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper held a series of high-level meetings during her visit to the region, which included discussions with the President of the Kurdistan Region, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Interior.
The UK Consulate explained that "the UK and the Kurdistan Region agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation comprehensively, including efforts to combat organized crime and strengthen border security."
The Consulate also confirmed that "an agreement was made to launch effective communication campaigns in collaboration with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, aimed at countering the spread of misinformation promoted by traffickers online."
