Journalist Rakan Ahmed released from PYD custody
ARK News.. The PYD administration has released Rakan Ahmed, a journalist and member of the Branch Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria (KDP-S), who was abducted several months ago from the town of Kirke Lage in Derik area.
On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the PYD released Rakan Ahmed from its prisons after more than eight months of detention.
He had been brutally abducted on March 29, 2024, and his fate had remained unknown until his release.
Rakan Ahmed, who is both a journalist and an active member of the KDP-S, was abducted from the town of Girke Lage, part of the Derik region of Syrian Kurdistan. His release comes after months of uncertainty about his well-being and whereabouts.
