Suleiman Oso: USA did not inform us about resumption of Kurdish-Kurdish negotiations
ARK News.. The President of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (KNC), Suleiman Oso, has said that while American and European officials have consistently expressed support for the resumption of Kurdish-Kurdish negotiations, the U.S. has not officially communicated any plans to resume the talks, which have been stalled since 2020.
In an exclusive statement to ARK News, Oso said: "The Americans and Europeans always support the resumption of the Kurdish-Kurdish negotiations in our meetings with them.
He confirmed that Americans emphasize the importance of Kurdish unity as well as the unity of the Syrian opposition".
However, he clarified: "So far, the Americans have not informed us of any intention to resume the Kurdish-Kurdish negotiations."
Oso reiterated the KNC's willingness to resume negotiations, provided they are based on the guarantees outlined in the 2021 document signed by the US and the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The document reportedly contains six key provisions aimed at fostering trust and cooperation.
It emphasizes the importance of creating a positive environment for negotiations, which requires an end to violations against the KNC, the release of detained KNC members from the prisons of the PYD-led administration, and ensuring an atmosphere conducive to meaningful dialogue.
