Poland congratulates president Barzani on the success of Kurdistan parliamentary elections

ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani received, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Polish Ambassador to Iraq, Marcin Kubiak, at his residence in Salahuddin.

At the start of the meeting, Ambassador Kubiak congratulated President Barzani on the successful parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the Kurdistan Democratic Party's leading performance in the results. He commended President Barzani and the Kurdistan Region's institutions for their role in fostering stability and prosperity in the region.

Ambassador Kubiak emphasized Poland’s appreciation of the Kurdistan Region’s significance within Iraq and the broader region.

He expressed Poland's desire to strengthen its relationship with the Kurdistan Region in areas such as education, higher education, and agriculture, among other fields.

President Barzani thanked the Polish Ambassador for his congratulations and reaffirmed the strong friendship between Kurdistan and Poland.

Reflecting on the elections, President Barzani expressed pride in the peaceful and democratic participation of the people of Kurdistan, which he described as a moment of honor for all.

He emphasized the importance of forming a broad-based government in alignment with electoral entitlements and expressed confidence in the successful conclusion of government formation and political negotiations.
