ARK News… The Kurdish poet and writer, Lori Teldari, on Saturday, July 29, 2023, passed away in a hospital in Qamishlo, in Syrian Kurdistan, at the age of 65.
Who is Laurie Teldari?
The Kurdish poet and writer Abd al-Jalil Hanifa "Lori Teldari" was born in 1958 in the village of Tal Dar in Derik, in Syrian Kurdistan.
He finished elementary school in Ain Diwar and preparatory and high school in Derik schools, after which he joined the University of Damascus and studied law.
He started writing poetry in 1979, along with interest in folklore and collecting it.
He worked as a teacher in the villages of the region for more than 20 years.
Lori's lyrics and music were sung by many artists, including "Jamal Sadoon - Azad Faqe - Ali Kavan - Roni Jazrawi and Bland Ibrahim".

The Kurdish poet Lori Taldari died on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in a hospital in Qamishlo, after suffering a stroke. He was buried in his hometown, in the village of Tal Dar in Dêrik.
