President Nechirvan Barzani stresses that coexistence and acceptance of the other is a principle and belief

ARK News... The President of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, received His Beatitude the Patriarch and Head of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the scholar Cardinal Louis Sako, and an accompanying delegation.

With regard to withdrawing the decision of the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq related to the Chaldean Church, President Nechirvan Barzani stressed that it is important for Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, to remain a tent inclusive of all religious and national components, expressing his hope that the President of the Federal Republic of Iraq would take the initiative to solve this problem as soon as possible.

President Nechirvan Barzani stressed that coexistence and acceptance of the other is a principle and belief, and that the beauty of Iraq lies in being the homeland of all its components and in which the rights of all are safeguarded.

For his part, His Beatitude Cardinal Sakco expressed his thanks and gratitude for the support of President Nechirvan Barzani, stressing that the Kurdistan Region is the land of coexistence and acceptance of the other, and that they cherish it. He indicated that this problem will definitely not stand in the way of his work and duties, and that he will continue to defend Iraq and coexistence.
