ARK News… On Monday, July 24, 2023, marked the thirteenth anniversary of the departure of Sami Nasiro, one of the pillars of the national struggle in the city of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan.
About the life of the late
The late Sami Nasiro was born on August 5, 1949, in the village of Gorda in Afrin. As a result of his struggle within the Kurdish movement, he was arrested, tortured, prosecuted and interrogated dozens of times by the security services of the Baath regime.
He was last arrested by the Political Security in Aleppo in 1988 and released after eleven days, during which he was subjected to severe torture.
Sami Nasiro was married and father of five children. He passed away on July 24, 2010 due to a heart attack. Thousands of Kurdish people participated in the funeral of his immaculate body, and he was buried in his hometown of Gorda village of Jenderes town of Afrin city.
