Masrour Barzani: We will continue to defend the rights of the people of Kurdistan and will not give them up under any circumstances
ARK News... The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, stated that the regional government will continue to defend the rights of the people of Kurdistan, and will not give them up under any circumstances.
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met a number of personalities representing various models of Kurdistan society, and during the meeting, the work of the ninth government formation was evaluated.
Barzani said, "I would like to say that at the beginning of the ninth government's assumption of its duties, we had a lot of hope that with a strong reform system, we can do a very good job, follow up on the positive things that have been done, and improve the things that need reform."
He added, "I have great hope for the digitization of the Kurdistan Region's institutions, which will facilitate matters and transactions for the government and citizens, but in many places, this database was not available and was not present in many government sectors, which caused obstacles to the implementation of digitization."
He added, "We have achieved many successes in many matters, and good things have been accomplished, but you all know that we did not have many opportunities, especially at the beginning of our assumption of our duties, as the Corona epidemic spread widely, and the price of oil decreased, in addition to a lot of problems." The economic challenges we faced and these crises left direct impacts on people's livelihood.
Masrour Barzani explained that the ninth squad faced crises and was able to overcome them and find solutions to them at the appropriate times.
The head of the regional government indicated that his government cabinet faced crises, some of which were local, and from parties that felt threatened and opposed the government and sought to thwart it, and the source of some of it was external.
He continued, "We were able, with God's help, to overcome these crises, and we are now at a stage where I can tell you that many of these crises have passed, but we still have to work to ensure the future of our future generations."
Masrour Barzani stressed that what is important is the issue of people's livelihood, and all salaries have been paid to employees, although there are false statements claiming that we have not paid salaries, and this talk is untrue, and I can certainly say that in this government all salaries have been paid, although they are late. A little at times, but despite all the crises, we were able to pay the salaries of the citizens and thank the citizens who were patient and enduring.
On the other hand, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government stressed that dialogues with the federal government took place and will continue, and that attempts are underway to resolve all outstanding issues between the two sides, but he stressed that no one has the right to waive any of the rights of the people of Kurdistan.
Masrour Barzani added, "We will continue to protect the rights of our people, but we will seek appropriate ways through which we can resolve these issues peacefully with the federal government within the framework of the constitution in which our rights are determined."
