America is about to deliver air defense systems to the Peshmerga forces
ARK N EWS… The US military spending bill shows that US lawmakers are seeking to hand over air defense systems to the Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan Region, after the region was subjected to a series of missile and drone attacks by both Iran and Turkey, according to the British "Middle East Eye" website, on Thursday.
The British report indicated that the US House of Representatives approved, on Wednesday (12/06/2023), an amendment by Republican Congressman Don Bacon, which strengthens efforts seeking to transfer air defense systems to the Peshmerga, within the framework of discussions on the National Defense Authorization Act for the year 2024 (NDAA), a piece of legislation that sets the annual Pentagon budget.
The report quoted Bacon as saying the measure had "strong bipartisan support," both Republican and Democratic.
Bacon said that he "will ask the US administration to prepare and implement an action plan aimed at training and equipping the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi security forces, in order to confront Iranian missile attacks and uninhabited systems (marines)."
