ARK News… The White House announced the appointment of Kurdish diplomat Hero Qadir Mustafa as US ambassador to Egypt

Mustafa held several diplomatic positions in the US administration and previously held the position of US Ambassador to Portugal from 2019 to 2023. Before that, she was deputy head of the diplomatic team at the embassy. In the Middle East and worked for a while in Mosul.

In addition to the jobs she held in the US State Department, she worked with the team of advisers and assistants to the US President in the White House, where she served as an advisor to current US President Joe Biden on Middle East affairs when he was vice president.

Hero Qadir Muhammad Mustafa was born in the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region in 1973. Her family immigrated to the United States and lived in Mayotte, North Dakota. She holds a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University, and she also obtained a master’s degree in foreign policy from Princeton University. She is fluent in Kurdish languages. Arabic, Persian, Greek, Hindi, Bulgarian, and Spanish. She is married and has two daughters.
