Under torture... ARK documents four cases of the martyrdom of Kurdish civilians, including a lawyer
ARK News... ARK documented four martyrdom cases under torture in the prisons of the PYD administration and the armed factions affiliated with the Syrian opposition, in Afrin, Syrian Kurdistan, Sheikh Maqsoud, and Ashrafiya neighborhoods in Aleppo in 2022. Two of them were displaced from the city of Afrin in Aleppo, and the other two are Kurds in the city of Afrin, among them a Lawyer.
Within less than a week, the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood witnessed two cases of martyrdom under torture of two Kurdish youths from Afrin displaced in PYD prisons in Aleppo:
1- Diyar Khalil Omar, from the town of Basouta, was arrested in early September 2022.
2- Farhad Sheikho, from the village of Mirkan, Mabata town, was arrested on August 28, 2022.
In the city of Afrin, 2022 martyrdom cases were witnessed under torture, according to ARK documentation, including a lawyer. In the details, the Kurdish lawyer, Luqman Hanan, lost his life in the prisons of the armed factions in the city of Afrin, in Syrian Kurdistan, on December 22.
ARK obtained pictures showing traces of torture on his body, while ARK refuses to publish the pictures because of the harsh scenes they contain.
According to local sources, this is not the first time he has been arrested, knowing that he was suffering from chronic diseases.
Lawyer Luqman Hanan hails from the town of Mabata and used to live in the Mahmuodiya neighborhood in the center of the city. Every time he was arrested, he was released in exchange for his family paying the ransom.
ARK documented the death of another civilian in Afrin after he was subjected to torture, so the Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction, on Saturday 22/01/2022, in Afrin, attacked al-Zidiya neighborhood, assaulting the citizen Rezan Muhammad Khalil, 40 years old, father of two girls, from the village of Chaqla Foqaani, in Shiye town, and residing in Afrin, due to torture, lost his life affected by his injury.
The PYD administration forced hundreds of thousands of Kurds in Afrin to migrate to al-Shahba camps and the neighborhoods of Aleppo in 2018, and after the control of Turkey and the armed factions, terrible violations against them began by the PYD administration in Aleppo and al-Shahba, and the opposition factions in Afrin.
