"Pirde Epic" in its fifth year...when the Peshmerga executed the plans of the dreamers to eliminate the Kurdistan experience

ARK News… The fifth anniversary of the Pirde Epic (Alton Kopri) on Thursday, October 20, 2022, coincided when the Peshmerga forces repelled a large-scale attack from the Popular Mobilization militias, which were about to advance towards the capital, Erbil, in a massive attack with various types of weapons, including the American Abrams tanks in the army’s possession. The Iraqis, with the support of a regional force, had reoccupied the city of Kirkuk on October 16, 2017, and the Peshmerga forces were able to defeat the attackers, repel them, inflicting heavy losses on them and stop their progress in a heroic battle called “Pirde Epic” in reference to the town near which the battle took place, The battle witnessed the destruction of an American Abrams tank, which was in the possession of the Popular Mobilization militia, by the Peshmerga forces, which repelled 6 consecutive attacks on its front berm with various types of weapons.

The town of Pirde is located to the northwest of Kirkuk governorate, about 40 km away from Erbil, about 50 km away.

In the "Pirde epic", the Peshmerga forces thwarted the plan to eliminate the political entity of the Kurdistan Region by the enemies of freedom and democracy, after the people of the Kurdistan Region had said on September 25, 2017, their speech in the independence referendum was yes to freedom and independence. This epic, which not only changed the military equation but also changed the political equation in favor of the Kurdistan Region, the Peshmerga forces, and the just cause of the people of Kurdistan, proved that the Peshmerga forces remain the fortified shield to protect Kurdistan from all enemies and stalkers.

The Peshmerga forces wrote a new epic in Pirde with the blood of a group of its heroic martyrs who gave their lives for the cause of their people, their freedom, and dignity, so the epic remained and remains immortal in the memory of the people of Kurdistan and every Kurdish person is jealous of the cause of his people wherever he is.

The General Directorate of Counter-Terrorism in the Kurdistan Region promised, on Thursday, the Epic of Pirde, to restore the dignity of the people of Kurdistan, and in response to the October 16 betrayal.

The directorate said in a statement, "The Pirde epic is a symbol of the steadfastness of the people of Kurdistan, and a failure of a hostile scheme."

It added, "On October 20, 2017, was the day when the Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Region regained their dignity, and it was a graveyard for enemies."

The directorate promised Pirde's epic, in response to the betrayal, stressing that the people of Kurdistan confirmed that they do not bow to anyone and under any circumstances.
