ARK News… PYD militias brutally raided the home of a member of the Area Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, the journalist Ahmed Sofi, on Saturday night, February 19, 2022, with the aim of kidnapping him.

The source, who preferred not to reveal his name, added: After the son of the journalist Ahmed was kidnapped as a hostage, the journalist Ahmed Sofi surrendered himself in exchange for the release of his son.

Media man Ahmed Sofi has been kidnapped four times since 2017 until today, the last of which was, on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

On September 16, 2017, the so-called People's Protection Forces and the Asayish of the PYD raided the house of ARK correspondent Ahmed Sofi and took him to an unknown destination.

- On 22/10/2018, journalist Ahmed Sofi was kidnapped when he was riding in his car on the road between Bane Qasre village and Derik, and his fate remained unknown for 6 months.

- On 3/1/ 2021, Ahmad Sofi was kidnapped from a PYD checkpoint near the city of Derik in Syrian Kurdistan.

- On 19/2/2022, that is, on Saturday, the PYD militias brutally raided the house of Ahmed Sofi, a member of the Logical Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, and took him to an unknown destination.

The journalist Ahmed Sofi, correspondent of the ARK Media Foundation, was born in the city of Derik in 1976, and a member of the administrative board of the Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union, and a member of the Area Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Syria. He is married and has four children.
