Rocket shelling targeting Peshmerga forces in Pirde

ARK News… A missile attack targeted, this Friday evening, Peshmerga positions in Pirde (Altun Kopri) in Kirkuk Governorate.

An official in the Pirde axis told BasNews that 8 missiles were fired from Pirde at the Peshmerga positions and landed near them.

It stressed that the bombing did not result in any damage.

In addition, the Anti-Terrorism Directorate stated on its Facebook page that the missile attack was carried out with Katyusha missiles and targeted the 10th Brigade of the Peshmerga forces.

It added that eight Katyusha rockets landed near the fifth axis of the Peshmerga forces, without causing any injuries or material damage.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Later, the Ministry of Peshmerga said in a statement that the missiles landed in the eastern and southern regions of the Pirde town (Alton ), noting that the missiles fell randomly outside the fifth axis of the Peshmerga.

The ministry added that the missile attack did not cause any casualties or material damage, and at the same time confirmed the opening of an investigation into the incident.

Previously, the Peshmerga axes, especially in Pirde, were subjected to similar attacks without causing any casualties. The attacks usually originate from areas under the control of the federal government.
