President Barzani, recalling the Gulan revolution: "It proved to the haters the enduring steadfastness of the Kurdish liberation revolutionary will."

ARK News… The Gulan Revolution was a rich experience of steadfastness, reorganization, and recovery of the people of Kurdistan. As it was possible in post-setback situations and during asylum and exposure to the various pressures of the enemies of the people of Kurdistan to set off the Gulan Revolution according to a firm program and with solid confidence. The Gulan Revolution was also the message that was addressed to all the haters and the enemies of the people of Kurdistan, which confirmed that despite the existence of conspiracies, threats, and the strength of the enemies and various obstacles, the people of Kurdistan possess the will to fight to confront injustice, and the will to transfer their struggle to its true arena, which is the holy land of Kurdistan.
The Gulan Revolution, which started its first spark with the first activity of the Peshmerga in the Haji Omran region, on 26 / May / 1976, and the martyr Sayyid Abdullah was the first martyr of the Gulan Revolution, which carried the message and objectives of the great September revolution, as it was an extension of all previous Kurdish revolutions, and proved the steadfastness of the haters, the permanent Kurdish liberation revolutionary will.
On the forty-fifth anniversary of the start of the Gulan Revolution, we salute the pure souls of the Gulan Revolution, and all the martyrs of the Kurds and Kurdistan, and we affirm that the freedoms and gains achieved for the people of Kurdistan are due to the blood and sacrifices of our martyrs. I also express my appreciation and gratitude for the struggle and efforts of the heroic militants who have become the pride of their people because of their sacrifices and their performance of the honorable roles in the Peshmerga struggle and in party work and the secret struggle inside the cities and during asylum and exile.
