McKinsey reveals the fate of US forces in Syrian Kurdistan
ARK News… The head of the Pentagon's Central Command, General Kenneth Mackenzie, confirmed that the US military and NATO units will remain for a long time in Iraq and Syria.
He added: The number of US forces in Iraq and Syria will likely decrease in the coming months, but he has not received yet orders to start withdrawing forces.
The New York Times quoted McKinsey as saying, "There are 5,200 troops in Iraq to help fight ISIS remnants and train Iraqi forces."
"I don't think we'll stay in Syria forever ... at some point, we want to get smaller there, I just don't know when that will be," Mackenzie said at a security conference organized by the United States Institute of Peace.
