An organization calls for displaced people of Afrin to return and "break the barrier"
ARK News.. A Human Rights Organization in the Afrin region of Syrian Kurdistan, on Saturday, July 18, 2020, renewed its call for the displaced people of Afrin in the Shahba area to return to Afrin, with the aim of thwarting the demographic change scheme.
The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said in a report read by ARK News: "We have called more than once for the people to return to their villages and restore their homes and properties to thwart the demographic change project, despite the difficulties and inhumane practices carried out by armed militias, but the conditions they encounter in the areas of Al Shahba is not less bad than the conditions in which people live in their area - Afrin.
The organization added: "Recently, it has been observed that a limited number of families have returned, and this represents the third batch since the start of the displacement process. Therefore, we appeal to the families to return and break the barrier that is in front of them, whatever the circumstances that will not be worse than what they suffer in the displaced areas and their survival homeless, waiting for the false promises that do not rich and do not get hungry.
Since Turkey and the armed factions took control of Afrin, its environs, and its villages, on March 18, 2018, hundreds of thousands of indigenous Kurdish residents have been forced to migrate towards the Shahba areas, while the Arab families settlers have settled in their places.
Since then Kurdish politicians and activists have appealed to the need for the indigenous people to return to Afrin, to thwart the demographic change scheme.
