An urgent appeal to reveal the fate of the child, Fathi Muhammad Omar, who was kidnapped by PYD
ARK News.. In an urgent appeal, on Wednesday, 3 June 2020, a Kurdish family from Kobani in Syrian Kurdistan, appealed to the concerned local and international bodies with defending the rights of children to reveal the fate of their 14-year-old son (Fathi Muhammad Omar) who was kidnapped by the PYD, holding the aforementioned party and its military arms the legal, moral and humanitarian responsibility of the children, including Fathi. ARK has received a copy of the appeal it says:
To local and international organizations: Minors' recruitment processes are still ongoing in the PYD's control areas.
Whereas, PYD recruits underage children into their camps and plunges them into armed conflicts in Syria, in violation of international and norms, and humanity related to children's rights ..
In this context, we recall the agreements signed by the leadership of the (YPG) in 2014 with the Human Rights Organization (Geneva Call).
Included in the following items:
1 - Not to enlist children in military classes.
2 - Not to plant mines in populated areas.
3 - Not to use women in their military wars.
In July 2018, an agreement was signed between the United Nations representative and the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, not to recruit minors to their military ranks.
The immediate demobilization of those previously recruited.
What was agreed upon on the paper was not applied to the reality. In recent times, these warnings have increased on the scene, such as the child (Fathi Muhammad Omar), who was born in 2006 in the city of Kobani (village of Jom Ali) located east of Kobani, where he was kidnapped on 1-6-2020.
It is reported that all their departments in the city were reviewed without success.
Therefore, we hold the Democratic Union Party the PYD, and its military branches, the legal, moral and human responsibility of what children are exposed to including (Fathi Muhammad Omar).
We appeal urgently to all concerned local and international bodies with defending the rights of children in order to stop this phenomenon that violates the values and principles set forth by the United Nations.
