Shoigu announces the completion of the withdrawal of Kurdish forces from the border areas
ARK News: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the withdrawal of Kurdish militants from the safe area planned by Turkey in northeastern Syria has been completed ahead of schedule.
"The withdrawal of Kurdish forces from the territory where they plan to establish a security corridor has been completed early. Our military police and Syrian border guards have entered there," Shoigu said Tuesday during talks with his Armenian counterpart David Tonoyan.
The withdrawal of Kurdish forces from the designated area comes under a memorandum of understanding signed by Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 22 during their meeting in the Russian city of Sochi.
