63 Years Since President Barzani Joined the Ranks of the Peshmerga
ARK News.. On May 20, 1962, President Masoud Barzani joined the Kurdish September Revolution as the youngest member of the Peshmerga forces. Despite his young age, he played a pivotal role in achieving significant victories and heroic milestones that have become cornerstones in the modern history of Kurdistan.
Sixty-three years have passed since President Barzani took up arms with the Peshmerga, and his struggle for the rights of the Kurdish people has never ceased. He has consistently expressed pride in his identity as a Peshmerga—a title he regards as higher than any official position.
Throughout his career, President Barzani was an active participant in the September Revolution. Following its collapse and the launch of the Gulan Revolution, he took direct command of the Peshmerga forces and led numerous operations against the former Iraqi regime. His resistance spanned all parts of Kurdistan—from Zakho to Penjwen—as he himself has emphasized on several occasions.
“I am truly astonished that some people expect me, after all these years of struggle and serving as a Peshmerga, to abandon the cause to which I have devoted my entire life,” President Barzani once remarked.
For decades, he has maintained that being a Peshmerga is a badge of honor and a lifelong commitment. He has often stated that May 20 holds deep symbolic meaning in his life—a day that marks not only his entry into the Peshmerga ranks but also the beginning of a life dedicated to the defense of Kurdistan.
When ISIS emerged and seized vast territories across Iraq, President Barzani once again assumed direct command in the fight against one of the most brutal terrorist organizations in the world. As both a Peshmerga fighter and the leader of the Kurdish people, he stood firm, defending Kurdistan and protecting its citizens from the threat of terror.
Following the 2017 Kurdistan independence referendum, during which the Kurdish people overwhelmingly voted for self-determination, a coordinated local, regional, and international effort sought to dismantle the Kurdistan Region. On October 16, 2017, Iraqi forces launched an attack on Kurdistan with internal support from local actors aiming to fully occupy the region. President Barzani ordered a firm defense, resisting the assault and once again thwarting a conspiracy against the Kurdish people.

خلال منشور على منصة (إكس)، بمناسبة الذكرى الـ 63 لانضمامه إلى صفوف البيشمركة، قال الرئيس بارزاني: "تحية لكل البيشمركة، أقبل أعينهم، تحية للأرواح الطاهرة للشهداء، ولكل الأبطال الذين أبدعوا يومنا هذا، وأصبحوا فخراً لشعبهم".
يذكر أنه، مضت 63 عاماً على إنضمام الرئيس بارزاني إلى صفوف قوات البيشمركة الكوردستانية .

الشيباني: رفع العقوبات الأميركية والأوروبية سينعكس إيجاباً على سوريا
عقد وزير الخارجية والمغتربين السوري أسعد الشيباني ونائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأردني وزير الخارجية الدكتور أيمن الصفدي مؤتمراً صحفياً في قصر تشرين بدمشق.
قال الشيباني خلال المؤتمر الصحفي: توجنا جهودنا الدبلوماسية برفع العقوبات الأوروبية بعد أيام من رفع العقوبات الأمريكية.
وأضاف وزير خارجية سوريا: وقعنا اتفاقية لإحداث مجلس تنسيقي أعلى لتعزيز العمل المشترك بما يخدم مصالح سوريا والأردن.
وأوضح الشيباني أن تهديدات أمنية مشتركة تواجه سوريا والأردن وعلاقتنا معه تبشر بازدهار مقبل.
وأكد أن رفع العقوبات الأميركية والأوروبية سينعكس إيجاباً على سوريا والمنطقة.
وتابع الشيباني: التنسيق الاقتصادي مع الأردن بدأ منذ اليوم الأول بعد التحرير وكان حريصاً أكثر منا عليه وسيساعد رفع العقوبات عن سوريا بتعزيز هذا التعاون في مجالات النقل والطاقة وكل المجالات.

الاتحاد الأوروبي يوافق على رفع كل العقوبات الاقتصادية المفروضة على سوريا
أعطت دول الاتحاد الأوروبي الیوم الثلاثاء 20 أیار 2025، الضوء الأخضر لرفع كل العقوبات الاقتصادية المفروضة على سوريا في محاولة لدعم تعافي دمشق عقب النزاع المدمّر والاطاحة بالرئيس بشار الأسد، بحسب ما أفاد دبلوماسيون.
وأشارت المصادر إلى أن سفراء الدول الـ27 الأعضاء في التكتل القاري توصلوا الى اتفاق مبدئي بهذا الشأن، ومن المتوقع أن يكشف عنه وزراء خارجيتها رسميا في وقت لاحق اليوم.
وجاء قرار الاتحاد الأوروبي بعد إعلان الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأسبوع الماضي رفع واشنطن عقوباتها عن سوريا.
وقال دبلوماسيون، إن الاتحاد يعتزم فرض عقوبات فردية جديدة على المسؤولين عن إثارة توترات عرقية عقب هجمات استهدفت الأقلية العلوية موقعة قتلى.
ومن المقرر الإبقاء على إجراءات أخرى تستهدف نظام الأسد وتحظر بيع الأسلحة أو المعدات التي يمكن استخدامها لقمع المدنيين.
تأتي هذه الخطوة الأخيرة من الاتحاد الأوروبي بعد خطوة أولى في شباط تم فيها تعليق بعض العقوبات على قطاعات اقتصادية سورية رئيسية.
وقال مسؤولون إن هذه الإجراءات قد يُعاد فرضها إذا أخل قادة سوريا الجدد بوعودهم باحترام حقوق الأقليات والمضي قدما نحو الديموقراطية.

63 عاماً مضت على انضمام الرئيس بارزاني إلى صفوف قوات البيشمركة الكوردستانية
في 20 أيار 1962 شارك الرئيس مسعود بارزاني في ثورة أيلول كأصغر بيشمركة، ورغم صغر عمره لعب دورا كبيرا في تسجيل العديد من الإنجازات والملاحم البطولية التاريخية الشهيرة لكوردستان.
63 عاما مرت منذ انضمام الرئيس بارزاني لصفوف البيشمركة الكوردستانية وما زال يناضل من أجل حقوق شعب كوردستان دون توقف ويفتخر دائما كونه بيشمركة .
شارك الرئيس بارزاني في مسيرته ضمن صفوف البيشمركة في ثورة أيلول، وبعد إنهيار ثورة أيلول وقيام ثورة گولان، أشرف مباشرة على قوات البيشمركة الكوردستانية وشارك في عدة معارك ضد النظام العراقي السابق " وكما أشار في عدة مناسبات وخلال مسیرته النضالية التي شملت كل المناطق الكوردستانية من زاخو الى بنجوين .
وقال الرئيس بارزاني إنه مندهش للغاية من أن بعض الناس يتوقعون أنه بعد كل هذه السنوات من النضال والبيشمركايتي ، سأتنازل عن قضية قضيت حياتي كلها من أجلها.
لطالما أكد الرئيس بارزاني ، طوال مسيرته السياسية وفرد ضمن صفوف البيشمركة، على أنه من البيشمركة الكوردستانية وهذه الرتبة أعلى من أي منصب آخر، وقد أكد مرارًا أن 20 آيار ذكرى مشرقة في حياته.
وعندما وصل تنظيم داعش وسيطر على جزء كبير من العراق ، قاد الرئيس بارزاني مرة أخرى بشكل مباشر المعركة ضد أكثر الجماعات الإرهابية وحشية في العالم، سواء كفرد من البيشمركة وقائد لشعب كوردستان، وقام بحماية كوردستان وشعبها من الإرهابيين.
بعد استفتاء استقلال كوردستان، عندما صوت شعب كوردستان للاستقلال، كانت هناك خطة محلية وإقليمية ودولية لتدمير ومحو تجربة إقليم كوردستان، وفي 16 تشرين الأول 2017 ، هاجمت القوات العراقية إقليم كوردستان بدعم محلي من جهات عدة حاولت باحتلال إقليم كوردستان بكامله، لكن أمر الرئيس بارزاني حينها بالدفاع عن إقليم كوردستان ومواجهة القوات العراقية واستطاع إفشال هذه المؤامرة وإفشال أعداء شعب كوردستان مرة أخرى.

Around 283 People Depart al-Arisha Camp in Haskala Countryside
ARK News.. Local sources have reported that more than 50 displaced families have left al-Arisha camp in Syria’s Hasaka countryside, returning to their homes in the Deir Ez-Zour countryside.
According to the sources, a total of 53 families—comprising 283 individuals—departed the camp for their areas located west of the Euphrates River in the Deir Ez-zour region.
This group marks the fifth wave of returns organized by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as part of its voluntary repatriation program.
Originally established to host around 14,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), the camp's population has since declined to approximately 11,000, as repatriation efforts continue for those willing to return.

Over 721 Civilians Killed or Injured in the Kurdistan Region Due to PKK–Turkey Conflict
ARK News.. A recent American media report has revealed that the prolonged conflict between the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Turkey has forced thousands of civilians in the Kurdistan Region to flee their homes, leaving hundreds of villages either completely abandoned or under constant threat.
According to a report by U.S.-based outlet Alhurra, the PKK’s decision to dissolve itself may not only signal the end of a war that has lasted over four decades, but also mark the close of a chapter that has shaped the security and political dynamics of the Kurdistan Region.
The report, citing international relations expert Hassan Ahmed Mustafa, emphasized that the armed conflict between the PKK and Turkey has over the years led to the displacement of thousands of residents from Kurdish villages and towns. Nearly 800 villages in the region have been rendered either uninhabitable or are at serious risk due to ongoing military activity.
Data from the U.S.-based Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), released in March, revealed that at least 721 civilians have been killed or injured in the Kurdistan Region since January 1991 as a result of Turkish airstrikes and military operations targeting PKK fighters.

Over 4 million Captagon Pills Seized in Syria's Latakia
ARK News.. The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the seizure of more than four million Captagon pills hidden inside industrial equipment in the coastal city of Latakia, as authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle the narcotics out of the country.
According to Khaled Eid, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, the operation was launched following precise intelligence received from internal sources. The shipment, concealed within industrial machinery intended for export, was located and raided in coordination with specialized K9 units trained to detect narcotics.
Eid confirmed that the pills were tightly packed inside equipment designed for the production of tahini, a food product widely used in human consumption. The machinery was allegedly prepared for international shipment.
Authorities arrested the individuals involved in the operation, confiscated the narcotics and the equipment used to conceal them, and referred the suspects for investigation in accordance with an order from the competent public prosecutor.

Mithal al-Alosi: Masrour Barzani's U.S. Visit is Strategic—Kurdistan Represents Security and Prosperity
ARK News.. Iraqi politician Mithal al-Alosi described the visit of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to the United States as both "strategic and timely," emphasizing the significance of the Kurdish delegation during a critical period in the region's political landscape.
In a post published on the social media platform X, al-Alosi remarked, “Today’s Iraq is no longer the great Mesopotamia. Through corrupt and failed regimes, Iraq has lost its strength—its diversity, its culture, its civilization, and its wealth. Iraq has lost its Jewish, Christian, Mandaean, Baha’i, Yazidi, and Fayli communities, and has been transformed into a fascist dictatorship, a destructive epicenter.”
He continued, “Kurdistan stands today as a beacon of security and prosperity. It is the Kurdish geography that completes the unity of the Iraqi state amid a sectarian and backward quota-based system—one that resembles a rabid dog tearing apart its own people. Millions of Iraqis have been displaced and brutalized under this bloody system, which spares no one—Shiite, Sunni, Arab, Kurd, Turkmen, or anyone who refuses allegiance to its power.”
Al-Alosi concluded with a sharp message to Iraq’s Coordination Framework leaders: “O members of the Coordination Framework, atone for your sins—and if you have any sense, rush to embrace Kurdistan.”
