Afrin .. a grave and arbitrary decision against the Kurds
ARK News: The wave of displacement - from areas recently under control in the governorates of Idlib and Hama under the control of the Syrian regime - continues to the Kurdish Afrin region which affect negatively changing the demographics of the region where the armed factions are working on the settlement of these families in the houses of Kurds, while a decision was made by the Amshat militias y on Monday 13/5/2019 in the village of Qarmitlq of Shiye town which forcing housing Arabs settlers with Kurdish families within the same house they live.
According to an audio recording sent by a civilian to the ARK Media Foundation on Tuesday, who preferred not to be named, saying that the Amshat militias issued a decision to housing Arab settlers with Kurdish families within the same houses they live.
The source added that the decision came into force, who has three rooms in his house imposed on him to live in one room while the other rooms are distributed to Arab settlers families to live in.
According to what he said in his audio recording that such practices have angered the villagers of Qarmitlq since the Arabs and Kurds are different in language, culture, customs and traditions and pose a danger to the demography of the region. The main goal is to remove the Kurds from the village in favor of the new settler Arabs.
The same source confirmed that the Arabs are acting freely within the houses that chosen for them, as they are carrying out racist practices and directing insults and caresses to the Kurds to tighten them in order to take them out and take over the house completely.
The Afrin region is undergoing a systematic campaign to change its demography since 2018, as Dozens of Arab settler families are settled daily by these armed groups in the six towns of Afrin and also in the city center, whereas tens of thousands of indigenous Kurds live in the PYD camps in the countryside of Aleppo. The latter prevent Kurds from returning to their villages which the PYD in an indirect way contributing to changing the region's demographics.
