EU Mission in Lebanon: Conditions for the return of Syrian refugees are appropriate
ARK News: Ambassador Christina Lassen, head of the EU mission in Lebanon said that "most of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon want to return to their country when they are safe," noting that conditions are not yet ripe for the return.
The European official explained that 83% of Syrians displaced want to return to their homes when they feel that the return is safe, according to the survey and statistics, noting at the same time that the United Nations still believes that the conditions on the ground are not appropriate to complete the return.
The Lebanese daily An-Nahar on Saturday quoted the official as saying that many things remain unclear, which makes the return of displaced people to Syria is unsafe, stressing that the European Union is convinced that the final solution to this crisis is that the return of Syrian refugees to their country.
